Up for sale is a WWI Era AEF US Army M1917 Bayonet & Leather Scabbard.  This is an Original Bayonet & Leather Scabbard.  The bayonet is marked Remington in a circle and dated 1917, it had the US Proof marks stamped over the British Proofs on the rear.  This was one of the bayonets made by Remington under British contract that was given to the US AEF Forces in Europe.  The blade still has some of the original two-toned finish.  Some finish wear on the handle and guard.  The wooden handles are in nice condition.  The typical wear, dent, etc, see photos.   No evidence of excessive sharpening.  It has an early Australian leather scabbard.  The leather is soft and supple, no cracking or crazing.
